Pros: -Does what it should.
-Very cheap.

Cons: -I’ve had a power cable get stuck in this before, because the pins on the molex connector on the adapter were a little crooked. It took 10 minutes of prying to get it off.

Other Thoughts: -If you need to quickly or routinely grab everything off a large laptop hard drive, this is nice because it’ll be a lot faster than USB.

Much much faster than a USB connection
Great to inspect external 2.5″ HDD’s (you can pull it apart and hook it straight to your desktop)

Cons: If there are any criticisms I would say build quality, it may be easy to damage your pins on the back of your HDD

Other Thoughts: I bought this because I needed to format my external USB 2.5″. Formatting through the USB took hours (10+ hours), and I wasn’t patient enough to wait the whole time so I kept cancelling it.
I hooked the HDD to this unit and it only took 1 hour as opposed to the ridiculous 20+ hours on USB. Also file transfers improved dramatically, so I was able to transfer all the files I wanted to before I could put it back into the enclosure

Pros: I have 1 2.5 HDD with inportant information inside. I buy this converter to connect to my desktop.
Very hard to fing such things in Azerbaijan. Thanks DX. And price and shipping is perfect.

Cons: nothing, everything perfect.
I connect it, it works good.
No problem with Vista x64.

Pros: – Just works within Ubuntu; no drivers needed.
- Driver disk includes drivers for linux/mac/win98, 2000, XP, vista, CE
- USB extention cable included

Cons: – Extention cable does not look like it’s a heavy quality cable, it’s kinda thin.
- RS232 screws on the connector are hard to turn as the casing of the adapter is really next to the screws
- driver cd contains drivers for other devices, so you have to look for the directory called “(USB-SERIEL2303)”
